The Launch of the Journal of the American Nurses Association of New York (JANANY) in 2021

The Officers and Board of Directors of the American Nurses Association – New York (ANA-NY) approved the proposal to establish the Journal of the American Nurses Association of New York (JANANY) during its August 2020 meeting.
JANANY is slated to publish its first issue in January 2021 in both online (ISSN: 2694-4510) and print (ISSN: 2694-4502) formats. The journal is registered with the Library of Congress and CrossRefs. It is an open access, peer-reviewed, scholarly and international journal, whose mission aligns with that of ANA-NY. Since the establishment of the ANA-NY in 2012, it continues to foster high standards of nursing and promote the professional and educational advancement of nurses to improve health care for all.
The journal is an add-on benefit to ANA-NY members, aside from the following that it currently it offers – advocacy for regulatory and legislative proposals, social and professional networking, quality continuing education programs, American Nurses Credentialing Center certification and recertification discounted fees, affordable malpractice insurance, dual membership in the American Nurses Association (ANA) and ANA-NY, and nursing resources and news items in its quarterly published ANA-NY Newsletter.
Edmund Pajarillo, PhD, RN BC, CPHQ, ANEF is the Editor-in-Chief of the JANANY. He is a founding member of ANA-NY, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Graduate Studies in Nursing, College of Nursing and Public Health, Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. Appointed members of the Inaugural Editorial Staff are Jeanine Santelli, Executive Editor; Joseph Brennan, Amanda Brown, Kimberly Korn, James O’Shea, Abigail Smith and Justin Waryold are Associate Editors; and Shakira Hernandez is Editorial Associate. U.S.-based Inaugural Editorial Board Members are Christine Berté (Newburgh), Felesia Bowen (Charleston, SC), Billy Caceres (New York), Darlene Del Prato (Utica), Ann Fronczek (Binghamton), Melinda Hermanns (Tyler, TX), William Jacobowitz (Garden City), Carla Jungquist (Buffalo), Rhonda Maneval (New York), Ellen McCabe (New York), Mary Lee Pollard (Albany), Michele Summers (Binghamton), and Lee Ann Xippolitos (Stony Brook). Inaugural International Editorial Board Members are Sheila Bonito (PHL), Tommy Dickinson (GBR), Annmarie Grealish (IRL), Koy Virya (KHM), and Susie Yoon (KOR).
